Say Lou Lou is looking to build anticipation for the launch of their new EP, set to be released November 25, and their newest track is doing a good job of making sure that happens. "Beloved" is vaguely 90s in its execution, but the rolling electric guitars that come in on the chorus aren't unwelcome; rather, the duo has pulled certain rhythmic elements popular a couple of decades ago, and paired them with the finessed production style that made their breakout single, "Julian," such a win. The song doesn't scream for attention with abrupt beat changes or hard hits, but it does slowly pull you in, and by the halfway point, you're sure to be hooked.
