Armed with an acoustic guitar and harmonizing vocals, Sapient is dropping the raps on his new record, Slump, to give us his alternate musical side that just might be his best endeavour yet. Over the years Sapient has been widely known as the rapper from the Portland hip-hop conglomerate Sandpeople, but as it became more apparent that Sape could venture out solo, his self-built lane has become sustainable enough to pump out some great records. As we have reported earlier, this new sound we find all over Slump, has shown up on previous Sandpeople records. If you managed to hear those records from a few years ago ("Gladys" & "Dapper Mob") you would of been rightly anticipating this alternative album because those aforementioned songs were the big standouts from those albums.
