If you've ever seen the movie, Drive, you'll know that this Rambo Hollywood remix ought to have a place in it, despite appearing two years afterwards. It's as many pop sensibilities on it as that within the Hollywood flick itself, and really makes me wonder whether or not Rambo Hollywood has himself heard the soundtrack to the motion picture. Whether he has or not doesn't matter too much, though; it's the efforts on the track that we're most concerned about, of course, and it's a spectacular one at that. The original work, an echoing pop gem entitled "Brighter" stands out for myriad reasons, not the least of which includes the fact that it's the debut single of the Gold Coast artist, but as alluring as it is on its own, we can't help but gravitate more closely towards the updated edition Rambo Hollywood has bestowed upon us. It's smart, sexy, and electric simultaneously, incorporating weighty drums and melodious percussion to go along with San Mei's shining vocals, illuminated spectacularly under Rambo Hollywood's delicate touch. A modicum of mellowed synths knit tightly all of the elements, turning "Brighter" into an authentic artifact of pop and electronic genres blended wonderfully together.
