A misconception of pop is that it's vastly soulless and devoid of emotion, but, as Canadian singer-songwriter Sampson displays on debut "Shake The Fire", that's simply not true. The track finds Sampson wrestling with the inevitable passing of time and our heroes (namely, the singer's beloved grandfather), and it toes the tricky line between emotional and sonic resonance.
