UK-based singer-songwriter Sam Sure released his infectious debut single, "Hunger", earlier today with a coveted premiere on BBC Radio 1 with Zane Lowe, and, in the sea of electronic-pop singles it's joined, "Hunger" definitely stands out with its impeccable production and impressive vocal performance from Sure. Though his voice alone is enough to go on, Sure's true potential shines in his songwriting. Deliciously simple and expertly crafted, "Hunger" relies on understated synths and a few choice samples to carry Sure's gorgeous voice, and the particular texture is especially effective in the chorus of the song, where the fluid, uncluttered production style fits Sure's ethereal singing like a glove. In short, "Hunger" is the debut all artists dream of, and with the level of potential and talent exuded on the effort, there are definitely more things to come.
