Sam Lachow is one of Seattle's best up-and-coming rappers, and he has been for a long, long time. His latest track, "Popular Man"—one that features production from Sam, himself (alongside production from Jake Crocker and vocals from Ariana DeBoo)—provides perfect freshness in today's climate of rap. Rather than copying what melodic formats we hear so much these days, he's able to set himself apart (again) by instilling his own appealing pop edge, and here it works well.
