Saint Pepsi — Unhappy

Saint Pepsi

Unhappy

One of the joys of music discovery these days is how, in an increasingly electronic medium in an increasingly electronic world, the simple act of getting lost in services like Soundcloud or BandCamp for a few hours is a lot like taking a walk somewhere you've never been and finding a place you never knew existed. Sure maybe 1% of the music that's out there gets radio play/coverage, but the other 99% (most of which deserves to be covered more than the 1% that gets it) needs to be searched out and sought for, like that favourite hiding place you had when you were a kid. Saint Pepsi is a member of that 99%, but that only means when you stumble across what he has to offer it's that much richer, that much more exciting. His latest track is a reworking of the 90s emo rockers American Football's song 'The Summer Ends' - I'm not sure if you're familiar with this song or not (I wasn't) but the results of the new touches are pretty incredible. Despite the name, "Unhappy" is actually a care-free romp through upbeat tempos, claps and snares that will make you feel anything but unhappy. Take a listen below and dig a bit deeper into an artist that deserves to be heard.
