We're already big fans of RÜFÜS here at HD, and their original material is almost always on point, but for some reason, they're also always associated with stellar remixes, and The Presets rework of "Unforgiven" here is yet another victory to add to that list. Maybe it's RÜFÜS penchant for inspiring production work, or their skill with songwriting, but whatever it is, we're really enjoying the track. The first couple of seconds will scare you if you've gotten tired of the overly synthy offerings that have worked their way into pretty much everybody's SoundCloud feed, but stick with it, because by the time those dark vocals make an entrance, the track takes on a much more moody quality and transforms into pure audio magic. The Presets have nailed this one down to the very last note, and we can't think of anything that would be more awesome to listen to on a night drive with the windows down and some far-off destination beyond the headlights. This is modern '80s at its finest, and the life that both RÜFÜS and The Presets breathe into the song is hard to match. The beat within is relatively simple, but it works perfectly with the rest of the composition, and the sweeping textures that wash in and out of the background add a level of depth and substance to the remix that has us all exited about the fact that these two names decided to team up.
