Ruben Dawnson works in the warm, melodic corner of singer-songwriter territory where production still has a pulse. 'Safely' is gentle without being passive, a clear-eyed track about vulnerability and care that doesn't oversell either. The arrangement is clean and the vocal sits right up front where it belongs.
