Debut tracks come and go every day, but the fact is that you'll probably not remember many of them. "Blue Asphalt", however, is a different story. It's a piece by newly minted French duo Royaume, and it's inspiring. The song not only fits in with today's current sonic trends, but it also sounds timeless in the way it can affect you emotionally as well. From its haunting piano keys set alongside strings, to its gorgeous vocals (the added harmonics on those are pretty amazing), to its pulsating percussion throughout, there's quite an incredible vibe here to be had. With its somber songwriting, too, it's pretty safe to say that Royaume has a debut here that's going to turn a lot of heads.
