We covered one of Rosie Lowe's earlier tracks here a couple of weeks ago, and it was, by all counts, a win for the artist based out of London. Her sound is dark, but you're never left with a sense that she overdid the somber tone which finds balance on tracks like "Right Thing" and "Me & Your Ghost". Lowe's voice is higher pitched than some of her counterparts, but the tone is juxtaposed perfectly against the ultra-low bass hits and beat stabs that pop up here and there in "10k Balloons." What really pushes this one over the edge, though, is the clever combination of classical guitar with the almost haphazard texture layering throughout the song. It's this combination of smoothness and roughness that makes "10k Balloons", a track taken from her debut EP, Right Thing, a worthwhile and replayable listen.
