With the first single from her forthcoming debut album, “Rush”, UK R&B artist Roses Gabor has made quite the magnetic first impression on us. It does help that she’s the ever-prolific artist-producer MNEK channeling the background sound on the track, but that’s not to take anything at all away from her own hypnotizing performance. She stuns, plain and simple, and the conceptual cut we have here (dealing with what Gabor calls “the electrical chemistry that brings two people together”), is about as congruent with its inspirational origins as a track can get. MNEK’s exotic, electrical-sounding synths help this be so, and the way Gabor’s able to so effortless enter our spirit with her charmed tone is something telling of spirited spell they together cast. Needless to say, we’ll be watching the singer with utmost excitement as her upcoming work rolls around, but until that time, we’ll be reveling in the sonic sincerity of “Rush” below.
