Robyn Sherwell is an artist that we've a perpetual investment in. She's pumped out tracks again and again much to our liking, but what makes her stand out in particular is the rate at which her musical abilities, and specifically, her vocal creativity, are skyrocketing. She started out with "Low", a graceful soul effort that hinted at what was to come, and as her musical repertoire began to build, our amazement continually rose. Sherwell's latest release, "Tightropes", advances the upward trend while offering the London singer-songwriter's lightest notes yet. It's an effort thats inclusive of a few simple xylophonic reverbs which are the absolute perfect pairing for Sherwell's soft-touched vocals, and they offer the transparency needed to showcase her significant maturation as an artist in complete control of her craft. Concluding all original material on her Islander EP, "Tightropes" has us as excited as ever to see where the songstress takes next her talent, but even if we've to wait, we'll be overjoyed to have the soft-speaking beauty of "Tightropes" passing time by.
