Rickie Jacobs is a rapper we haven't before covered on the site, though his recent album, Remember To Smile, makes us wish we have. It's a cohesive project through and through, ripe with fitting features and engaging beats behind them, and definitely deserves some time in your ears, if not a download for the purpose of longevity. "Elantra" was our favorite effort from the work, with its enlisting the greatly artistic aid of vocalist Beya Likhari, as well as an introspective beat provided by C.A.G. Rickie shares some intelligently paced bars on the track after Beya sets the initial tone, and we're soon engulfed in an intimate atmosphere that Rickie furthers along with his authentic rhymes. It's a great listen overall; it's honest and evocative, and it stinks of personality (which is increasingly rare in the genre), and we love the effort for all of these reasons.
