There is a healthy mix of frustration and anticipation when an artist you dig does not release music as often as you'd like. Over the past few years, Australia's very own Retro Culture has amassed a following behind his effervescent, glittering pop tunes, but they're few and far between. Today (and luckily for us), we are hearing from the multi-instrumentalist again on newest track "Thread", and, much like his other tracks, it employs classic-sounding guitar, bass, synths and forward-thinking elements of production that we love. The electric guitar on this song recalls the classic leanings of the act, yet the inclusion of pitched vocals brings the track into the now. The blissful, upbeat vibe of it provides the perfect addition to any summer playlist, and Retro Culture's smooth voice ensures that a ton of replay value is here. There is no word on whether "Thread" will be included on an EP or LP, but it's exciting to hear from him again, and we certainly hope more new music is coming from him soon.
