It took two years to hear from Refs after their debut single was released in 2015, but, luckily, we didn’t have to wait long for their next release after “Forever”, as they return with “Spotlight” here. Primarily fueled by bold, '80s pop-inspired synths and an emphatic driving beat, “Spotlight” leans heavily into a throwback aesthetic that pairs beautifully with the R&B style that Refs are quickly becoming known for.
