“Pain Goes Away”, the debut single from Brooklyn-based Refs, made quite the impression when it released back in 2015. Unfortunately, we’d heard nothing from the act in the time since, and his lack of social media seemed to indicate that we may never have received a follow-up release. Thankfully, it was just our impatience getting the better of us, though, as Refs has returned with his second track, “Forever”, that's absolutely worth the wait. Through the exploration of the lament of a courtship that is seemingly perpetual, “Forever” shows that Refs hasn't lost his ability to create an arresting electronic-pop number—one complete with a striking vocal range and propulsive synth arrangements. It's an impressive recurrence from the individual, for sure, and we definitely hope to wait less for more material from him to come.
