After their debut EP and a string of successful subsequent singles, RDGLDGRN has just released another track, and this one has all the makings of a summer anthem. Aside from the fact that it's an all-around great song, the track's got the added bonus of having a very distinct sound, which, when compared to other tracks in the same vein, is much more polished and refined. Right off the bat, you'll notice a lot of bright guitar work, and despite the thought-provoking themes, the vocals are as upbeat as you could hope for from a single that feels purpose built to blast at backyard barbeques and summer house parties. As if that wasn't enough, the drums were played by none other than the Foo Fighters and Nirvina's Dave Grohl. Tracks like "Lootin' in London" and "I Love Lamp" helped build a solid foundation for the band's future efforts, but with such stiff competition out there, it's going to take a lot of great material and good music to keep up with the pack. Fortunately for RDGLDGRN, they've got tracks like "Robots" up their sleeve, appropriating what looks to be a great vision for their future work. If they continue to progress as they have so far, then we'd bet they're going to be attracting a lot more attention in the near future, so do yourself a solid and familiarize yourself with them and their latest (which you can download for free below). I could tell from his name that he is of Romanian origin, like me. I was excited to reach out and share that I was a fan. We started bouncing messages back and forth, discussing collaborative ideas. I admired Ghica's styling of his robotic characters, so I asked him how he felt about drawing RDGLDGRN, using these characters. I received an email from him a few days later, on my birthday, with the subject "La Multi Ani," meaning Happy Birthday in Romanian, with this superb graphic, which we felt was fitting for the cover art of Robots."
