If there’s one thing to know about RAYE, it’s that she’s a fiend for putting out good music. The 17-year-old Londoner’s talents came to the surface with her fantastic EP, Welcome to the Winter, that landed her a big-time signing with Universal-rooted label Polydor Records, and now with new material to show from it, we’re definitely seeing the benefits of the fresh pairing up. “Alien” is that mentioned new material, and we see with it a relative sticking to RAYE's signature electronic-R&B sound while also giving us a different lens through which to see her talents with a more poppy feel. She’s left the second verse to London rapper Avelino, too, and the combination of the two’s vocal talents is what makes the terrific single truly stand out.
