One of the downsides of covering an artist with such a prolificness as Rationale is that it becomes difficult to praise their efforts without repetition. To date, we've covered all the releases from the artist. Each feature has been earned on its own merit(s), so it stands to reason that when it came time for the release of his debut LP, we’d be one of the first to be singing its very deserved praise. This LP acts as an aural history of Rationale’s stirring sound—a musical timeline that features tracks from his inception until now—including tracks from previously released Fuel to the Fire and Vessels EP’s. Although these tracks remain mostly unchanged, they do take on a new life in the context of a full album, cemented in place by an impressive array of new cuts such as the layered soul of “Oil & Water”, the luminous “Losing Sleep”, and the emphatic and momentous drive of “Tumbling Down”. Although it is rewarding to examine the inherent beauty of each musical tile, if you take a step back, you will see that what Rationale has crafted here is a beautiful mosaic of soulful pop—a stunning LP that he should be damn proud of. We certainly are, and we absolutely want you to listen to all below.
