Recently, there has been a resurgence of '80s-leaning pop, but many of the songs within leave something to be desired. Los Angeles-based Rainsford has built a song off nostalgia without sounding contrived on her newest track, "Too Close", and, amid thudding synths and glittering production, she shines on what song she has labeled on SoundCloud as a "new beginning." Though it is '80s-inspired, Rainsford adds a lot of depth and contemporary nuances to the song, making it all the more unique and pleasing overall. "Too Close" is delightful as a result of this, and we hope to hear more from Rainsford soon.
