It’s been two months since we stumbled upon Scholar’s debut piece, “Skin”, and ever since, we’ve certainly craved for more dance-worthy electronic emitted from the Brisbane-based act. Also, if you don’t already know, we take quite a strong liking to Racing Glaciers’ work, too, so there’s nothing more palatable than witnessing Scholar refine “Animal” from the UK-based act’s EP, Don’t Wait For Me. This remix will mark Scholar’s third-ever effort, and it ideally portrays their swift maturation as producers, as they elevate the original vocals while also managing to inject a riveting cadence throughout. Refraining from altering the vocals too much portrays the delicate approach the Australians take, and with a full collective focus on the upbeat sequences and dreamlike synth inclusions, the result is certainly evocative in its entirety. For fans of Racing Glaciers, too, this revision is one that you can optimistically dive into, as the vocals are still in the limelight and the zest is one that’s more exquisite yet.
