When a band or artist chooses to incorporate both forward-thinking production and nostalgic elements in a track, things can be pretty hit-or-miss. Los Angeles-based newcomers r00ms were up for the challenge, however, and they've created a tranquil, forceful hit on their debut original track, "Bittersweet Company." R00ms' strong suit is their ethereal R&B and pop vibes, and if one word could describe "Bittersweet Company," it would be "elegant". Between rich, emphatic production and nods to the past with strings section and organs, something about this song just sounds expensive. The vocals are remarkable as well, with harmonies and tone that give hints of Rhye and Sade all in one, and, as these guys are set to release their debut EP later this year, we'll be on the lookout for it, their production, and all sonic magic between to come again.
