It’s been about four months since UK trio R I T U A L dropped their R&B-inclined debut EP, The Fall, and now they find Bishop Nehru slotting some lines into their Chester Watson-assisted piece, “Amnesia”. The original version of the track featured a steadily paced verse from Watson which no doubt enlivened the inky setting, but with Nehru also providing his feisty rhymes on this piece, fans of chilled-out hip-hop will be immediately ecstatic. In terms of the production, there isn’t much of an alteration here from the original track, as sedative chord progressions and kick-snare patterns make up the beat’s complexion. Unlike the original’s unhurried pace, however, Nehru dives in early and lets loose his seamlessly lines that we'd say are pretty good for eliciting some memories. Watson’s verse is left untouched, but we’re not complaining about that, because it gives the remix more familiar sonic pigmentation that this new take builds so appealing upon. Check it out.
