Qtier is an London-based electronic-soul duo comprised of singer Adam Pless and producer Howard Whiddett. They have made some great tracks in the past, and their music has earned them a devoted following, but this new song is going to appeal to a much wider audience then their previous work. Songs like "Kind" and "Drift" have a very nice appeal, which we love here at Hillydilly, but "Set Me On" takes that same unique sound and blows it up into a brooding dance track that's going to grab even the most casual of listeners. Right away, Qtier injects healthy doses of bass and energy into the composition, and you're left with the impression that this isn't business as usual for the duo. They've stepped up their game for this release, and it shows. Adam Pless' vocals blend in well with the fuzzy synth chords Whiddett provides, but the high point for this single is when the transition to the bridge happens and all the harder-hitting notes get swapped for something more distant and light. It's a nice change of pace from the heavy pulses of sound they employ in the beginning, and it goes a long way towards making "Set Me On" a truly dynamic offering.
