This is one of those songs that sneaks up on you. The intro is a pretty nondescript synth line that doesn't do much in the way of grabbing your attention, but maybe that's the point, because not fifteen seconds in and your ears are greeted with vocals that are both deep and rich, yet have a slight rasp to them that evokes hints of R&B with just a whiff of Jazz. Then, to up the ante even more, the bassline and beat comes in, accompanied by some strong piano chords, and everything starts to make sense. It's like your ears were sitting in a dark room and Prinze George ripped the blinds open, letting in a flood of sunlight that exposed that bigger sonic picture. This technique of trickle feeding the listener with an ever increasing number of layers has been done many times before, but the way it's done here is just outright magnificent. If, by the end of the track, you're not absolutely hooked, then maybe we're not listening to the same song. This is only Prinze George's second release, but you most certainly can add them to the ever growing list of names to watch in 2014 and beyond.
