Today, we've already posted debut songs from two brand-new artists, Black Honey and Stereoshores, but we're not done yet. As we were scanning SoundCloud earlier, a certain Polish artist caught our attention, and though there's almost no information available on Prince of Livia, that's really besides the point, because his debut single, "Perkal Pt. 1 (Shallow)" (taken from his Perkal EP), provides us with more than enough material to write about. Prince of Livia's style is a blend of dark pop, electronic, and a sprinkle of house, all of which produce a sound that's danceable at some parts, but other times reminiscent of '80s pop. Prince of Livia also makes use of a smooth drum kit throughout the piece, with the occasional kick-snare combo providing a toe-tapping feel. Airy synths, plucked bass, and atmospheric piano chords generate the song's unique vibe as well, and the deep vocals add an element of mysteriousness. Near the end, Prince of Livia really embraces the throwback side of his sound with an electric guitar solo alongside some effected drums. We've only just discovered Prince of Livia, but if he continues to embrace the unique sound that he's delivered with "Perkal Pt. 1", then this definitely won't be his last post on HD.
