We keep on saying it, but only because of how true it is: 2014 is the year of the electro-pop duo. This trend certainly makes sense when you think about it, because with all the talented producers out there, adding a vocalist to the mix is just a no-brainer, but still, we're continually surprised (in a good way) when the artistic culmination comes. Now, we've an example of such a duo in LA's Pr0files, and though it's been about a year since they released their breakthrough track, "Call Yourself A Lover" they're finally coming back onto the scene with their gleaming new single, "Forgive". In short, the song is electro-pop ecstasy. Danny Sternbaum (producer) crafts the base of the instrumental with synth chords and a constant drum beat, but a wave of Kavinsky-esque synths ushers in a euphoric chorus. Lauren Pardini's pristine, alluring croon comes to aid the sound throughout, and it really stands finely on its own, too (it's an element deserving its own, singular praise). Pr0files are releasing "Forgive" through STRAIGHT A RECORDS, and though there isn't a way to purchase the song yet, you can stream it here in the meantime.
