London trio Portico is gearing up to release their new album, Living Fields, on Ninja Tune, and kicking off the announcement is a track that's going to definitely appeal to fans of alt-J. This isn't a simple comparison, however; Joe Newman, the lead singer of the famous group, is featured on the track, and furthermore, the production surrounding his intriguingly haunting tone here is drone-like and eerie-sounding—a far cry from the kind alt-J puts out. "101" definitely constitutes a fascinating listen through and through, and as our first-ever intro to Portico's sound, we're digging the effort quite a bit.
