Poldoore's "Morning Glory" is an original that sounds like a remix, but that's not a bad thing. We love remixes here at Hillydilly, but there's something about how those guitar chords are cut up into sharp-edged chunks that tricks your ears into thinking this is a re-envisioning of some sort of vintage rock track. The intro gets things moving forward with a series of hard-hitting synth samples which are paired up with abrupt percussion hits, and then moves into a more layered hook. However, even with the extra sound, nothing is overdone, and despite the fact that this track is probably mostly digital, it feels intensely analog. Listen as the electric guitar plucks shrilly away over the beat, and try to keep your head from bobbing just a little bit. Chances are you won't be able to. It's a cool concept, and the way it's been executed is quite refreshing, so "Morning Glory" had no trouble getting our stamp of approval.
