Excellent electronic-pop acts are a dime a dozen these days, and though we've highlighted our share of them, there's countless others we come across that just don't make the cut. The exceptions are those whose music outperforms our expectations from the genre, and although the Sydney duo, Polarheart, is not reinventing the wheel with their version of the sound, what they've done is create a polished piece perfect for the jaded connoisseur. "Paralyse" is the duo's debut single and highlighted track here, and it says something special that it sounds like the end result of a Lorde and Flume collaboration. We suspect positive things are in store for Mary Rose and Chris Chidiac given the potential of their sound, so keep it locked on all their future work.
