Australian producer Pogo has become quite the internet phenom due to his beautiful remixes using chopped up samples of voices usually from Disney movies. If you're unfamiliar with them and are reading this thinking "that sounds like a stupid gimmick, and I'm not 5 (or a female of any age) and therefore don't give a s*** about Disney music", give his music a chance. Besides the nostalgia that his songs bring up, they are actually musically very very tight. The samples are more than just gimmicky sounbites interspersed amongst very good music. Between the extremely feel-good vibes of the music and the samples I guarantee you even the kind of person who would be played by Danny Trejo in a movie would have a giant grin across their face. Some of the samples he uses end up working particularly well. Such is the case in his recently released Sesame Street tune, "Grover Groove". Grover's raspy percussive voice has a bit of a James Brown or Mystikal appeal. In fact, I think that if Pogo had discovered Grover earlier I think he could have made it big in the music world and eventually escaped those sketchy dirty streets full of hobos living in garbage cans and rampaging mammoths.
