We’re almost certain this will be the first time you’ve come across Dutch-based artist Piet Row, a solo artist who recently released a seven-track EP entitled you’re not alone anymore that has one clear standout cut according to us: “shimmer”. Pietro Marchesi (Piet Row) is an Amsterdam resident who takes a liking to the more buoyant wing of the electronic spectrum, and though his EP seesaws between a number of electronic styles, “shimmer” alone gives us enough reason to keep eager for any future work from the producer. What’s instantly detectable on the highlighted piece is the incredibly intuitive samples Piet employs, and though we’re not exactly sure if he's using vocals at any point, there’s no blemished result when they're cast alongside his sporadic yet alluring drums. The particular sequences sail from break-filled sections to more upbeat, kick-snare ones, and the transitioning will certainly prompt a rewind or two in accordance with all the other elements he so deftly weaves into the piece.
