Phoria — Undone

Phoria

Undone

If you haven't yet hopped on Phoria's ethereal wave, it's about time you do, because the British five-piece is ascending ever so swiftly along the path towards musical greatness. A few weeks ago, they released "Emanate", a breathtaking single that ranged from calm serenity to overwhelming euphoria, and already it's been followed by an impressive remix courtesy of Tom Gillieron. Today, Phoria is back with "Undone", another emotive ballad that only strengthens our desire for a full project from the group. Like a window keeping us from an oncoming storm, "Undone" emits a somewhat melancholy, yet comforting vibe. Echoed vocal chops, deep piano chords, and sparse percussion constitute the base of the instrumental, and the lead vocalist's somber croon coasts atop it all in meticulous fashion. The track proceeds to vary with the implementing of delicate strings, chopped synths, and the overall dissolving of the song's form. There isn't a strict pattern being obeyed; rather, the track branches off into whatever dazzling direction it desires. It's greatly engaging, much like a good book, and with its coming on the back of a single as great as "Emanate", we know we're in for some good stuff with their Display EP out next month.
