With Phoria's original only shades off the Mona Lisa in terms of its artistic integrity, the room for remixing the track into successful new light was super tight. What Tom Gillieron managed to accomplish with his interpretation, however, is exceedingly worthy of your attention. By shaping his rework around trip-hop-infusions and skittering percussion, the UK producer has accommodated the vocals of Trewin Howard not by overbearing them with ridiculous and unnecessary electronic, but rather, by allowing them to percolate atop what newfangled arrangements emerge. It results in quite the musical experience, and one you'd do well not to miss.
