For new, up-and-coming producers in Australia right now, there's no escaping Flume's sonic grasp, at least, not influentially. Rather than seeing this as a negative, though, we see this as a huge positive, because the trickle-down effect of sorts has no doubt inspired a whole generation of exciting producers. Over the past year, we've seen and heard plenty of newcomers (Chime, Oscilla, Deuces) that garner comparisons to Harley Streten (Flume), and now continuing this promising uptick in producers from the region and particular electronic space is Phlynt, who's debut three months ago consists of two incredible tracks. Almost as amazingly as the efforts, though, is the fact that, up until now, the producer has remained relatively hidden, but now with our exposure here, we've no doubts that those plays are going to explode into what numbers they should already be at. Kicking off the buzz for Phlynt will no doubt be our favourite of the two tracks, "Silence", that sees his immense sound come to life with pulsating synths, alluring vocal samples, and hard-hitting drums that support the additional layering of synthetic sounds. The track assumes a huge feeling as a result, and yet, it maintains a consistent, evolving feeling that keeps it fresh throughout. "Frozen People", the second of the two highlighted tracks, is no sonic slouch despite being our second favorite of the two, and on it, we hear another side of his sound that shows further promise for the destined-for-greatness producer. If any sound as good as these two, too, we're potentially in for another Australian star.
