The gently paced take Peter Lyons has applied to R&B is one that we've grown very fondly of, and with the release of the talent's debut EP, Oh, To Pull You Up, we get to hear four neatly crafted, immensely engaging efforts from him. The only fresh offering on the project is a slow number entitled "Plants", and, aside from that, our other favorite and already-featured track, "Leave Me", is worth another visit, especially in the new context here. The preceding track is the one we're focusing on, though, and Lyons delivers on all fronts on it, unhurriedly drifting through the percussion-rich instrumental that's behind. Oh, To Pull You Up in its entirety is one that's best listened to chronologically, as each effort complements the next flawlessly, and, as a result, thoroughly exposes Lyons' impressive ilk of electronic-touched R&B. The EP is available on iTunes.
