Oftentimes, the breakup of musical groups are devastating, but whether they happen with a revered group, or one that has yet to peak its head out to prominence, there’s always room for a successful rebirth from the ashes by individual members. Peter Lyons, formerly of the London duo Peter & Kerry, brings us his second solo release, “Leave Me”—one of these successful continuations of a band member on his own. Offbeat percussion and blooming synths here hint at the Londoner’s vision, and his ability to bring in such a great number of contrasting sounds and intertwine them to perfection indicates just how successful he can be on his own. It's hard to ignore his delicate falsetto, too, as they're to be a driving force behind the success of the track at hand. We must say, our ears perked at Mr. Lyons’ resume before we even heard the track, and beyond his membership in the aforementioned duo, he’s put in some serious hours as a featured act alongside some of our favorite artists. Whether acting as a featured artist for Chloe Martini, or touring alongside Lucy Rose, Lyons has picked up great experience (and sonic inspiration) from his affiliated artists and used them to his advantage, and we're excited to see what he'll do with the collection of great resources next.
