If you're sometimes apathetic towards new rap acts due to the overwhelming amount that are always overhyped, we have your remedy: the New Orleans-based Pell. The newcomer released his debut just a few weeks ago, and though it seems his hype has remained within the hip-hop world, we're hoping today to spread it past that realm and into your ears, because what's he created is absolutely must-hear stuff. With a wide range of impressive, dynamic production from the likes Tomas Barford, Jeppe Kjellberg, Staccs, and others, the backbone of this project is well-manicured. This all speaks volumes, too, because when you hear the scope at which Pell operates on the album (how he goes from flawless, well-written raps to his catchy chorus writing), he'll have you hooked from the get-go. From the upbeat anthem, "The Never", to the Chance The Rapper-esque, "Dollar Store", to the impeccable "Eleven:11", it's safe to say that Pell just might be your new favourite rapper. If you wish to stream the rest of Floating While Dreaming (in addition to our ordered highlights below), head on over to SoundCloud; and if you're looking to add it all to your hip-hop collection, you can do so through iTunes.
