"U + Me" comes from the underappreciated Patchley's two-track EP entitled Sails, (though the first is really just an introduction with long speech samples). Accordingly, "U + Me" becomes the deserving centerpiece of the project. I've noticed the sailing metaphor to be used a lot when writing about chillwave music, as they truly do create a feeling of floating carelessness (an idealization of sailing, not the actual tumultuous experience it provides). And within "U + Me", that cliche definitely holds true. The minimal instrumentation and precise drums set your mind at ease while the beautifully sampled vocals take over the focus over your attention. So listen to "U + Me" below, and, because we feel Patchley's sound is deserving enough, we've choosen to include an extra track of his for you to listen, called "True North". Enjoy.
