Anytime you see a new release from Paperwhite, you automatically know that it's going to be of the light, cheery variety, and if you could use some optimistic electro-pop to brighten your day (we always can), then it's time to rejoice, because the Brooklyn-based duo has just dropped off a brilliant new effort, "Pieces", that infuses some retro-tropical vibes that we're really digging. The song begins with a giddy collection of upbeat synth melodies and airy soundscapes, but it all really comes together in the powerful hook. The chorus, too, really embraces a throwback, '80s pop style with its euphoric combination of strong percussion, powerful vocals, and blissful synth chords, and we love it all. With so many great electo-pop acts constantly pouring out new material, it's not easy to piece together a bright pop offering that doesn't blend in with the masses, but Paperwhite displays their incredible prowess doing just that in their new single here.
