Back in the day I was always turned off by aussie hip-hop because of the accent, but that was a short lived opinion because now a days its plain to hear that the hip-hop coming out of Australia rivals any hip-hop in the world. In my opinion Australia and the Northwest of the US are the two hot spots for great hip-hop these days. Ozi Batla is one of the emcees from The Herd and Wild Colonial is his debut solo album that is produced by Sandro and features cuts by DJ Bonez. Wild Colonial has the underlying theme of true school hip-hop with boom bap beats and lyrical substance that will keep your ears glued to the sonic story book that Ozi Batla depicts throughout his impressive debut. Ozi Batla's accent is as thick as it comes but if you can throw out your ethnocentric point of view on accents its plain to hear that this dude can rap.
