Today marks a special day wherein we get our first taste of the new EP from Perth band, Our Man In Berlin. After releasing their debut EP, Is It Right?, in May 2014, the quintet is back and stronger than ever with their latest single “Molière”. The 17th-century French playwright, whose stage name this single takes its name from, was famous for writing tragicomedies about manipulation, and it is this theme that is explored both lyrically and sonically on the track. The musicianship is manic and often contradictory to the soft falsetto of lead singer Haydn Mansell, and yet, there is a peculiar cohesion to the chaos that definitely pays off. “Molière” is the first track to be lifted from Our Man In Berlin’s sophomore EP, Spirit Down, which is due out later this year.
