The HD radar is always welcoming to the fresh flow of musical talent that lurks in the shadows of the world, and here with Ouici's "The Farewell", a substantial mark has shown up on our screen that has grabbed nearly the entirety of our attention. Details on the Canadian instrumentalist seem to be few and far between ( a common theme these days), but what we have learned is that his music is on a tier that's to be admired. "The Farewell" follows Ouici's recent EP, She Dreams in Sound, that's garnered a small yet formidable following for the artist, and with his uniquely expresses sonic abilities in the form of innovative and entirely uplifting instrumentals, he's certainly laying the groundwork for trendsetting work. "The Farewell" wholly captivated us with its looping piano and bass guitar tune—each backed by clapping percussion and hints of brass that come together to produce a sound that could undoubtedly be found within the soundtrack of the latest Hollywood hit. We applaud Ouici's inclusion of each individual element, as the composited final leaves room for each and every segment to show through—a quality we hold very highly. On top of that, we simply found ourselves clinging to the track's addicting, elated notes more and more with each subsequent listen. So, while shrouded in a bit of mystery, Ouici has so far blessed us with a few tracks that have earned himself a high-standing name. There's no doubt, either, that he'll further impress us in the future with his perpetual flair for enthusiastic originality.
