Oscar Key Sung’s half-year-old EP, Holograms, is still fresh in the minds of those who with a strong craving for quintessential R&B , and though we haven’t come across many appealing decorations of the project, Sydney-based producer Zuri Akoko has refashioned the EP's title track, “Holograms”, in a downright gorgeous manner. Integrating segments of OKS’s vocals with unorthodox percussion and synthwork, Akoko completely overhauls the original, instilling an unprecedented chillwave ambiance that portrays her sonic adeptness. Ethereal sounds and instrumentations muscle the sultry vocal cuts, too, and with the aid of erratic drum flows, “Holograms” sees itself in a completely distinct firmament of electronic that has just enough Sung in it to remain recognizable to those attuned to the original track.
