There are plenty songs we would consider deserving of a spot in the “slow jam” category, but this new track by Oscar And The Wolf may just take the cake in terms of excellent fitting within the sound. Their ability to build tension and energy without speeding up the pacing is what really sets it apart, and as the song progresses, it almost feels like they’re slowly stretching out a rubber band, with you just waiting for it to snap back in spectacular fashion, though it never does. Max Colombie, the man behind the vocal work in Oscar And The Wolf, provides the perfect finishing touches to the murky atmosphere cultivated by the dark production work, and when all the moving parts come together in a decidedly slow-motion crescendo about a minute-and-a-half before the song ends, you’re greeted with an overwhelming sense of restrained power. This latest track doesn’t seem like too much of a shift in style when you compare it with their older work, but for whatever reason, there’s a sense Oscar And The Wolf has definitely upped its game with this one. "Undress" has got more of a somber tone to it, but the craftsmanship is unmistakable, and the resulting sound is a resounding success.
