The dust has only just settled on Osca's debut EP, and already, they've got another single to grace out headphones with. With this new addition to their catalog, it appears that they've got their sights set firmly on a debut album release soon, or at the very least, a second EP to keep up the momentum that hits like "Blood" and "Illume" garnered. "Smoke" here is their most recent contribution to the world of anthemic indie-pop, and it's still got that bit of sonic magic that they sprinkle into every song we get from them. The intro to "Smoke" is soft, and the chorus is still laden with big-room echo and reverb, but there's always enough music happening in the foreground to make sure the song isn't lost in the soft-edged haze it cultivates. Osca yet again delivers a ballad that's both comforting and engaging all in one swoop. We've been singing the band's praises since day one, and as long as they stick to their guns and make smart choices, there's a very good chance that we'll get to see the guys play the sellout stadium live shows that their music deserves.
