Osca — Sleeptalk

Osca

Sleeptalk

Yet again, Osca wows with their measured approach to indie-pop, and if you thought they peaked with their debut EP, Blood, then think again, because it seems they're not only living up to the high standard they set for themselves, but exceeding it as well. "Sleeptalk" is their new track here, and its intro peels out of the gates with a relatively low-key set of guitar chords. In true Osca fashion, though, the sonic grandeur they've now become known purveyors of sneaks up on you like a rising tide. By the time all the pieces are in play, your ears have already been swept away by all those beautiful rushing sounds and your head is in some far off land where the air is fresher and the water clearer than anything you've laid eyes on in this world. "Sleeptalk" may use lyrics that are far less bright than the music they're laid over, but it's so hard not to crack a smile when you hear the beautiful sounds whispering through the mix. Simply, when everything is woven together during the choruses, it's hard to keep your head from floating away in a haze of audio bliss. Not the only track the band has up their sleeve right now, "Sleeptalk" indicates further work to come, so stay tuned for more, and know that if you're a fan of comparable contemporary acts like The Night VI and Racing Glaciers, then "Sleeptalk" will be your new chill-out jam of the week and possibly beyond.
