Two months ago, we found hidden producing gem ØRKA on the back of some SoundCloud searching, and today, we have his second-ever official release. That release, "phantom", weaves together dreamy, lusty, and cozy tones, and all of them together provides a sonic synergy that helps to create a calming, immersive sound. Within the track, a muted static sits beneath a delicate guitar loop and a gorgeous male vocal (which happens to belong to ØRKA as well), and though we cannot always clearly detect each lyric sung, the encompassing music is heard loud and clear, providing enough of a context for the listener to be completely enveloped. Subtle nuances like delicate piano throughout and an electric guitar riff at the track's conclusion support the notion that this is not the work of another generic, downtempo "bedroom" producer, but rather, one with the sonic precision that only a promising talent can put out. There's no official word of an upcoming EP from ØRKA yet, but it seems that "phantom" might just be the second piece to some sort of larger whole. In any event, we'll have our ears forever ready for more content from him.
