Oriel Poole is a new singer-songwriter from Los Angeles, and she's going to be falling into a lot of people's good graces with this new single of hers entitled "Foothills". It's the second one from her upcoming debut EP, Sunday (a project successfully funded through Kickstarter), and with what lavish and electronic-laced soul it exudes, we're absolutely drawn to it. We actually came across Oriel last year through "Someone", a collaborative effort of hers with electronic artist Thriftworks, but now a year removed, the singer's entered into her own artistic adventures. Having made a full-blown commitment around the time of the track to climb a "seemingly insurmountable distant mountain" (she's speaking metaphorically here, people), Oriel's been rewarded with the knowledge of how to self-produce, promote, and publish her work, and with "Foothills" here, she's at the "base" of the mountain, she says—ready to climb her "true and higher path". Frankly, we're inclined to agree, and on the back of the impressive and alluring work, we're looking forward to the rest she has to share.
